Making a child’s holiday a little brighter,
one gift at a time
Since the creation of our event, we raised over $62,000 and were able to purchase
Christmas gifts for all 625 foster children in the care of Allen County Children Services over the past three years.
Thank you for your underwriting support - it had a major impact on reaching our goal in 2016!
We are well into planning for this year’s event and are looking forward to another successful event. The Cole Collection event is a curated collection of unique products from Ohio vendors as well as the community collectively coming together to give back to others. The core purpose for the Cole Collection event is to impact the children in the foster care system by making their holiday a little brighter this year. The proceeds from the event will allow us to purchase Christmas gifts for foster children in Allen County. Our goal is to raise $10,000 from the event and impact all 260 children in foster care through Allen County Children Services. The target attendees are women of all ages who value the importance of giving back to the community and also enjoy finding one-of-a-kind gifts. We are limiting the event to 100 shoppers. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, November 3 during prime holiday shopping time.
For four years, we held an annual shopping event in Lima. In November of 2013, I started thinking about how we could expand the event in 2014. As I started thinking about the event a few thoughts came to mind: How can we incorporate a non-profit into the event? How can we increase the awareness for the event? How can we bring in more vendors offering unique products?
As the answers to the questions started to fall into place I uncovered a common thread, Virginia Cole Galvin Crouse. At this point my grandmother had passed about two years prior but her impact on me was more profound than ever before. Her core fundamentals were faith, family and philanthropy and those, too, are the core fundamentals for the Cole Collection. In honor of Virginia, whose middle name “Cole” is in honor of her first cousin, Cole Porter, we created the Cole Collection event to carry on her legacy.
The committee and I sincerely appreciate your consideration in support of our event.
